Neenees Cafe sits quietly on Gilead Street in Ewing, embodying the easygoing pace of a small Missouri town. This is the kind of cafe where locals gather not just for a meal, but also to catch up and share a slow morning or afternoon together. The vibe is unpretentious and welcoming, with the kind of familiar faces and friendly hellos that make you feel part of the community even on your first visit.

The focus here is solid, home-style cooking paired with attentive, personable service. Mornings tend to draw families, especially with kid-friendly breakfast options and staff who check in thoughtfully throughout the meal. It’s the kind of place where your coffee cup stays full without having to ask and plates are cleared promptly once you’re done. Evenings and Sundays often bring diners looking for heartier, comforting dishes like chicken fried steak or biscuits and gravy, served in portions that feel like a meal made just for you by a caring neighbor.

Neenees works well as a spot for casual meet-ups—whether catching up with friends or enjoying family time—thanks to a relaxed atmosphere and a team that strikes a balance between professionalism and genuine warmth. Special holiday meals reflect the community spirit, with locals often gathering for shared feasts after a busy week or for those who don't want to cook but still want that homemade feel.

If you’re passing through Ewing or looking for a solid, no-frills meal with a hometown touch, Neenees Cafe fits that bill. The best time to come is during breakfast or lunch hours, when the place hums with low-key energy from both regulars and newcomers alike. Don’t expect a flashy scene—expect instead the kind of cafe where everyone’s a neighbor and no one’s in a rush.

Just your small town Cafe; service was great, food was delicious. Great for meeting up with friends/family for a tasty meal. They had kid friendly breakfast and came around to check on us, refilled drinks and took plates promptly

Nee Nee's Cafe offers a hometown feeling with a fantastic home-cooked meal and a welcoming staff. The family run business greets you with a smile and immediately makes you feel at home. They offer you coffee in the morning or the special in the afternoon. Every holiday Nee Nee offers a home cooked feast as the special for those that don't have the time to prepare the meal themselves. Always giving back to the community, Nee Nee's often donates portions of meals for the local high-school events. This is truly a Cafe with a heart for the community it serves. There is plenty of parking along the street in front of the building and it is wheelchair accessible.

Small town diner in rural Missouri. People know each other, but welcome strangers as we were. This happened to be their Thanksgiving dinner event for the year and several people attended and waited for the start of the dinner at noon. Not knowing what was going on, we ordered their double cheeseburger, which was very tasty. While eating our burgers the head waitress came out and announced to the crowd the Thanksgiving menu and afterwards said she was not going to repeat it, which received several chuckles. Overall, a nice small town diner with a homey atmosphere and good American fare.
